Changes in version 2.8.1 Unofficial
I have taken the bug fixes below and the latest git version of Gimp 2.8 and updated my builds. In particular, the git version fixes the jpeg issue with remembering previously saved defaults. For all those folks who have been worried about that issue, it is now fixed in the bug-fix release. Of course, as stated below, the file-size issue is also fixed in this version. I have reintroduced the default "darklooks" theme. I believe that for photography related activities, it provides the best interface.
